20:31 (6:36/mi)
24th place (out of 91 finishers) 3rd in age group (out of 4)
I was hoping to break 20 minutes, but come on, I have only been running for a few months. I know I will be able to get my time down, but we have to start slow. The course was pretty easy around Ella Sharp Park, and it was a beautiful day for a run. I managed to win an age award, even with such a slow run. I’ll take it.

21:24 (6:53 pace)
2nd in age division
My first race of my modern era, and I was a little disappointed in my time. I thought there was a snowballs chance of breaking 20 minutes, but come on, I have only been running here for a few weeks. The course was pretty fast, but I did learn that you MUST drive the course beforehand if you can. At one point I took a right hand turn and saw a huge hill that I had to run down. I also saw people coming back up it on the other side. I wish I would have known that beforehand. It was a brutally steep (yet blessedly short) hill.
The food afterward was great, a fantastic start to my ‘new’ running phase.

Ok, so how many blogs can one guy have, anyways. I am now up to 5, which is nothing compared to my friend, Jean-Claude. He has zillions it seems.
This blog is really just for me. It is a record of my daily training as well as information about races I am planning on running and have run, and a general collection of links to cool running stuff I have found. Not very showy, but it works for me.
